Description

CWD2425PH Solid State Relay — BOLTON SKU 69460.

About the CWD2425PH Solid State Relay

This part belongs to the Sensata / Crydom CW24 series of single-phase panel-mount solid state relays. In the series nomenclature CWD identifies the DC-input variant, and the 2425 platform is published as a 25 A device switching AC line voltages from 24 to 280 V AC from a 3 to 32 V DC control signal. The output stage uses back-to-back (inverse parallel) SCRs, and triggering is via zero-crossing optical isolators, so the output does not begin conducting until the AC waveform passes through zero — this limits switching transients on resistive loads. An active current-limiting input circuit lets the relay be driven from a low control current, and an input LED indicates state. The panel-mount package is supplied with a removable IP20 touch-safe cover. Sensata quotes a typical MTBF above 7 million hours for the series.

Key specifications

Typical applications

Panel-mount solid state relays of this class are used for switching heaters, resistive process loads, motors and lamp banks from a controller or PLC output, in industrial control panels, test and environmental rigs and ground-support equipment. Because there are no moving contacts they are chosen where switching frequency or contact life would be a problem for an electromechanical relay. Heatsinking and load derating should be assessed against the manufacturer’s curves for the installed condition.
