The 1658673-1 is a TE Connectivity AMPLIMITE HDP-22 series high-density D-subminiature connector housing with 62 positions in a size 4 shell, configured as a plug and terminated by crimp snap-in size 22 contacts that are ordered separately. The HD-22 family uses smaller-diameter contacts on tighter centrelines than the standard-density HDP-20 series, allowing roughly 65% more contacts in a given shell size. Distributor and TE data describe a tin-plated steel front shell with grounding indents for EMI/RFI shielding, and glass-filled nylon inserts rated UL 94V-0. The shell may be used panel-mounted or free-hanging; clinch nuts are available as a separate accessory rather than being a feature of this housing. Crimp snap-in construction lets harness builders crimp and inspect contacts individually, then load them into the insert from the rear, and remove them again with the correct extraction tool.
