Typical applications
An unshielded, unjacketed two-core in 22 AWG is a general-purpose airframe pair: power and return runs to small loads, discrete signal and switch wiring, lighting and indication circuits, sensor feeds and interconnects between avionics boxes and ground support equipment. Leaving off the shield and jacket keeps the diameter and the weight down and makes the pair easy to break out and terminate at connectors, so it is chosen where the circuit does not need screening against interference. Where EMI control is required, a shielded and/or jacketed variant of the same M27500 build should be specified instead.
