About the VPO32 High Vacuum Pump Oil
This item is a VPO32 vacuum pump oil for high-vacuum duty, packed in a one-litre container. In a mechanical vacuum pump the oil does more than lubricate: in a rotary-vane pump it lubricates the vanes, rotor and bearings, carries away the heat of compression, and — critically — seals the running clearances between the vanes and the stator so the pump can pull down to and hold its rated ultimate pressure. That is why vacuum-pump fluids are formulated with low vapour pressure and are not interchangeable with ordinary machine or compressor oils, and why oil that has absorbed moisture or process vapours will visibly degrade the vacuum a pump can reach. Base-oil type, viscosity grade and ultimate-pressure figures are not carried in this sales designation; if your pump manufacturer specifies a particular grade or approval, quote it with your enquiry and we will confirm compatibility and provide the safety data sheet before supply.

Typical applications
A one-litre pack is the practical size for routine oil changes and top-ups on small rotary-vane pumps — the pumps used for refrigeration and air-conditioning evacuation, laboratory filtration and rotary evaporators, vacuum ovens and desiccators, degassing and resin-infusion rigs, and workshop vacuum fixtures. Regular fluid changes are the normal maintenance action when a pump stops reaching its usual ultimate pressure or when the oil has turned cloudy from condensed moisture.
