About the Norox MEKP-925, 7011
The Norox MEKP-925 7011 listing covers Norox® MEKP-925, a methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) cure initiator manufactured by United Initiators for room-temperature curing of unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins. The product is a clear, colourless liquid solution of MEKP in a plasticiser carrier. Its comparatively high MEKP dimer content gives strong performance in vinyl ester resins; in most unsaturated polyesters it produces longer gel and gel-to-cure times than standard Norox MEKP-9, with a higher peak exotherm, particularly in thick laminate sections. Published properties include approximately 9% active oxygen content, a specific gravity of 1.10 at 25°C and a flash point of at least 170°F, with recommended storage below 27°C. Typical addition levels for MEKP initiators are on the order of 1-2% of resin weight, per resin-supplier guidance. Handle as an organic peroxide with the manufacturer’s SDS precautions.

Typical applications
MEKP-925 is used in composite fabrication — laminating, infusion and gelcoat work with polyester and vinyl ester systems — across marine, industrial and repair applications. Its cure profile is particularly relevant where vinyl ester resins or thicker sections are being processed and a controlled gel time with strong through-cure is needed.
