Within the LR1 axial metal film series the value is encoded after the tolerance letter, so 270R reads as 270 Ohm and F as the 1% tolerance grade, at the series’ 0.6 W rating. It is the low-value counterpart to the kilohm parts in the same family and is used for biasing, termination and current-setting duties on through-hole boards.
