Description
316 Stainless Steel Tube, 4 mm OD, 0.5 mm Wall Thickness, 300 mm Length — BOLTON SKU 53174.
About the 316 Stainless Steel Tube, 4 mm OD
This item is a straight 300 mm length of 316 Stainless Steel Tube 4 mm in outside diameter, with a 0.5 mm wall thickness giving a nominal 3 mm bore. Grade 316 is the molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel: its molybdenum addition over grade 304 gives markedly better resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-containing environments, which is why 316 is the default choice for marine, coastal and chemically exposed small-bore work. At this diameter the tube is typically cut, bent and flared, or joined with compression-type fittings, for instrumentation and low-flow fluid lines. The short 300 mm length suits prototyping, repairs and instrument hook-ups where a full commercial length would be wasteful. Material condition, tolerance class and certification requirements (such as mill certificates) can be stated on the RFQ for confirmation at quotation.
