The M18 FDD3-0X cordless drill driver is Milwaukee’s third-generation M18 FUEL drill/driver, built around an 18 V platform and a POWERSTATE brushless motor. Milwaukee rates it at 158 Nm of maximum torque with a 13 mm keyless chuck and a two-speed gearbox running 0–500 rpm in first gear and 0–2100 rpm in second, giving stated drilling capacities of 89 mm in wood and 16 mm in steel. The head length is 173 mm, which is the figure that matters when the tool has to work inside a bay, a rack or between structural members. An AUTOSTOP control mode senses rotation of the tool body and cuts the motor if the bit binds, a feature aimed at large-diameter bits and hole saws where kickback is the main hazard.
