Description
Weller WSW Solder Wire SAC L0 1.0mm, 500g — BOLTON SKU 66334.
About the Weller T0051386899 Solder Wire, SAC 1.0mm
This reel of Weller WSW SAC L0 is 1.0 mm in diameter and holds 500 g, using the Sn96.5/Ag3.0/Cu0.5 tin-silver-copper alloy with a 217-221 degC melting range and a 3.5 % halogen-free flux core classified L0 to J-STD-004. The larger 1.0 mm gauge deposits noticeably more solder for each unit of wire fed, which shortens feed time on joints with high thermal mass such as heavy-gauge wire, chassis tags, screened cable terminations and larger through-hole connectors. Because more metal arrives per second, the 1.0 mm gauge is normally paired with a higher-power iron and a broader tip so that the joint reaches wetting temperature before the flux is spent. Weller specifies a continuous flux core so the flux supply does not break mid-joint. This T0051386899 lead-free solder wire is manufactured in Japan and is declared under HS code 8311.30.00.

Typical applications
The 1.0 mm gauge is chosen for cable and harness work, connector shells and backshells, earth and bonding lugs, terminal blocks and larger printed-circuit terminals, where the joint absorbs heat quickly and needs solder delivered at a matching rate. It is also the practical gauge for tinning stranded conductors before termination. Where fine-pitch or surface-mount rework is involved, a 0.8 mm reel is the better match.
