This fastener is designated against standard 7045 in size M2.5 x 10 mm, in A2 stainless steel, fully threaded. ISO 7045 is the international standard for pan head screws with a type H or type Z cross recess, product grade A, and covers thread sizes from M1.6 up to and including M10; the 2011 edition is current. Product grade A denotes the tighter dimensional tolerance class of the two grades used for metric machine screws. The standard permits a range of materials including stainless steel property classes such as A2-70 and A2-80, and A2 austenitic stainless is the common general-purpose corrosion-resistant choice for small machine screws. A fully threaded screw carries thread along the entire shank up to the head, which is normal practice at short lengths such as 10 mm and allows the same part to be used across a range of grip thicknesses.

Typical applications
Small cross-recessed stainless machine screws are used to secure covers, brackets, connector shells, PCB standoffs and light sheet-metal assemblies.
