Description
Gland Cap Nut PG11, Nickel, Brass — BOLTON SKU 59515.
About the Gland Cap Nut PG11 Nickel Brass
The cap nut is the compression component of a cable gland assembly. It screws down onto the gland body and drives the sealing insert onto the cable jacket, and it is the part that actually creates the seal and the strain relief once the gland is tightened — which is why the cap nut is the item most often replaced when a gland is re-terminated onto a different cable or when the original nut is lost during maintenance. This gland cap nut nickel IP68 component is sized to the PG11 thread, part of the PG (Panzergewinde) thread series associated with the DIN 40430 range that remains widely used on European-pattern glands and enclosure entries. It is manufactured in brass with a nickel plating: the brass gives machinability and a stable thread, while the nickel plate adds surface hardness and corrosion resistance. PG11 nickel-plated brass glands are commonly specified with IP68 sealing, but that rating belongs to the complete assembly correctly fitted with its seals, not to the cap nut in isolation.

Typical applications
PG11 cap nuts are ordered as spares and replacement parts for cable entries on control panels, junction boxes, motor terminal boxes, field instruments and outdoor enclosures already built to the PG thread pattern. The nickel-plated brass construction suits installations where a metallic gland is required for mechanical robustness or for continuity of a screened cable, and where a polymer gland body would not be accepted. Confirm the cable outside-diameter range and the seal insert supplied with the parent gland when ordering.
