About the 600-057-1 Technical Component
600-057-1 is Glenair’s pre-coiled stainless-steel micro band, part of the Band-Master shield-termination system used to terminate cable-shield braid onto connector backshells and banding platforms. Distributor data lists the band at 3.05 mm width and 206.38 mm length; 600-057-1 is the pre-coiled version of the flat 600-057 band, coiled for easier handling and loading. In use, the band is placed over the dressed shield braid on the backshell banding porch and tensioned and locked with a Glenair banding tool — the 600-061 hand tool or 600-068 pneumatic tool are the listed companions — producing a permanent, 360-degree electromagnetic-interference-capable shield termination without soldering. Banded shield termination of this type is a standard technique in aerospace and defence harness manufacture, giving repeatable termination quality that does not depend on operator soldering skill and adding minimal weight to the harness.
