About the M23053/16-001-0 Heat Shrink Tubing
M23053/16-001-0 is a flexible, elastomeric heat-shrinkable tubing qualified to MIL-DTL-23053/16 and corresponding to the TE Connectivity (Raychem) DR-25 product family. It is a radiation cross-linked elastomer tubing that is flame retardant, chemically resistant and flexible over a wide temperature range, with published resistance to fuels and hydraulic fluids — the reason this family is specified for protecting harnesses in engine bays and other fluid-exposed zones. This dash size is the 1/4 in tubing with a 2:1 shrink ratio: the as-supplied inside diameter is 6.4 mm (0.252 in), recovering to 3.2 mm (0.126 in) after heating. The -0 suffix denotes black. Radiation cross-linking gives the material elastic memory, and the family operates continuously across approximately −75 °C to +150 °C.

Typical applications
DR-25-type tubing is used to jacket and protect wire harnesses in aerospace, defence, UAV and motorsport applications where abrasion, fluids and temperature extremes are present. It is a standard covering for sealed harness systems built with heat-shrink boots and moulded parts.
