Description
M83519/2-12 Soldersleeve, Heat-Shrinkable, 3.68 mm S — BOLTON SKU 55136.
About the M83519/2-12 SolderSleeve Heat-Shrinkable Heat Shrink
M83519 devices are SolderSleeve shield terminators qualified to SAE-AS83519, the specification formerly issued as MIL-S-83519. They provide an environment-resistant termination between a cable shield and a ground lead in a single heat-shrink operation: the sleeve recovers, a preformed solder ring reflows onto the shield, and meltable thermoplastic rings at each end form the environmental seal. The /2 slash sheet covers terminators supplied with a pre-attached ground lead, with the lead built to M22759/32 and the gauge set by the size table. The device carries a thermal indicator that changes from violet to colourless when solder wetting temperature has been reached, giving the installer a visual check. Terminators of this family are used on data-bus, RF and shielded cables where the operating temperature does not exceed 150 degrees C.

Typical applications
Shield terminators are consumed in volume in aerospace and defence harness manufacture, where cable screens on data-bus, coaxial and shielded signal runs must be grounded reliably and sealed against moisture. They are used on airframe looms, UAV payload harnesses, vehicle wiring and ground equipment. MRO and repair shops use them to re-terminate screens during loom rework, installed with a controlled hot-air tool.
