About the AMASS AS150 Female DC Power Connector
The AMASS AS150 Female connector is the socket half of the AS150 anti-spark DC power connector family used for battery, distribution and ESC connections in UAV and larger radio-controlled power systems. The AS150 design incorporates an anti-spark arrangement so that the capacitive inrush seen when a charged pack is connected is pre-charged through the connector rather than arcing across the main contact faces, which protects the plating and reduces pitting over repeated mating cycles. This item is the red-bodied female half, designated 500 V and 60 A with a 6 AWG conductor size. Colour is functional on a power loom rather than cosmetic: red and black bodies allow the two halves and their polarity to be identified without tracing cable, which matters on a flight-line where packs are swapped quickly and repeatedly by different people.

Typical applications
The female half is normally the battery-side or supply-side fitting in a UAV power chain, mating with the male half on the airframe harness or power-distribution board. Its 6 AWG conductor size places it on main pack leads and primary distribution runs rather than on accessory or servo wiring.
