About the 170-10400 Test Equipment
HellermannTyton 170-10400 is the order number for HEGP04 standard polyester braided sleeving. HEGP sleeving is an expandable, open-weave braid of PET monofilament used to bundle and protect leads, cables and harnesses: the special woven structure lets the braid expand to slip easily over plugs and connectors, then settle around the bundle to give an abrasion-resistant outer layer while staying lightweight, flexible and open to air. This size has a nominal diameter of 4 mm and suits bundle diameters from 2 mm to 7 mm, and the product designation states a melting point of +250 °C with a low-temperature figure of -50 °C. The manufacturer recommends cutting the sleeving with a hot cutting tool, or fusing the cut ends with a soldering iron, to prevent the braid fraying in service.
