About the Deutsch DT Series 2-Way Male Wedgelock Technical
The Deutsch DT Series 2-Way Male Wedgelock is the secondary locking wedge used with 2-way DT-series connector housings that carry pin (male) contacts. In the DT system, contacts are first retained by the housing’s integral fingers; the wedgelock then snaps into the face of the housing, backing up that retention and holding each size 16 contact in precise alignment with its mating half. This two-stage retention is central to the DT series’ vibration performance in vehicle and equipment wiring. The wedge is removable with simple tools, allowing contacts to be serviced and the wedge reused. This pattern corresponds to the industry part W2P, the green wedgelock used with the DT04-2P two-way receptacle; DT size 16 contacts are rated for 13 A continuous per contact.
