About the M23053/5-108-4 Heat Shrink Tubing
M23053/5-108-4 is a flexible, crosslinked polyolefin heat-shrinkable sleeving qualified to the M23053/5 military specification sheet (now SAE-AMS-DTL-23053/5). Tubing in this class has a 2:1 shrink ratio: when heated it recovers to half its supplied diameter, conforming tightly around wires, splices and harness sections. The ‘-108’ size code corresponds to a 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) expanded inside diameter, and the ‘-4’ suffix is the colour code for yellow. Distributor listings for this class give an operating temperature rating up to 125 °C, consistent with the product designation. M23053/5 polyolefin is a general-purpose harness sleeving grade used for light-duty harness jacketing, insulation of terminations, wire colour coding, marking and identification. As a mil-spec qualified product it is normally supplied with traceability to the governing specification, which BOLTON can quote with certification on request.
