Description

NF24P100 NETflite™ 100 Base-T Ethernet Cable — BOLTON SKU 64493.

About the NF24P100 NETflite Ethernet Cable, 100Base-T

The NF24P100 is a 24 AWG, two-pair 100 Base-T Ethernet data cable from Amphenol CIT’s NETflight® family of airborne high-speed data cables; the spelling NETflite carried in BOLTON’s item record corresponds to the manufacturer’s NETflight® trademark. Amphenol CIT lists the part with a characteristic impedance of 100 Ω, a velocity of propagation of 78%, attenuation at 100 MHz of 6 dB per 100 ft nominal and 7.1 dB per 100 ft maximum, and a weight of 35 lb per 1000 ft (51 kg per 1000 m). The pairs use an LTE extruded expanded-PTFE dielectric, which raises velocity of propagation while holding diameter and mass down — the reason cables of this family are specified for flight hardware instead of commercial building cable. The manufacturer rates the construction from −55 °C to 150 °C and lists support for 10/100 Base-T Ethernet, ARINC 629 and ARINC 664, and Category 5e applications.

Typical applications

A two-pair construction carries a single 10/100 Base-T link — transmit pair and receive pair only — which is what most airborne Ethernet nodes require without the mass of a four-pair cable. At 24 AWG with an expanded-PTFE dielectric it routes into tight bend radii and congested airframe raceways, linking mission computers, sensor heads, cameras and avionics units. The same part serves ARINC 664 and ARINC 629 runs and Ethernet retrofits added to existing looms during MRO upgrade work.
