About the 5580616 Ring Terminal, M6 Crimp
The 5580616 is part of Wurth Elektronik’s WA-CLUG range of tubular cable lugs. It is an uninsulated ring terminal in the straight, or 180 degree, form, designed for crimp termination onto a 16 mm squared conductor and for bolting to an M6 stud through a 6.4 mm hole. The body is made from electrolytic ETP copper with a tin plating, a combination chosen for conductivity together with resistance to surface oxidation at the crimp and contact faces. Overall length is 27 mm and the maximum operating temperature is 125 degrees C. Tubular lugs of this construction are crimped with a matched hexagonal or indent die so that the barrel is compressed uniformly onto the strands; the crimp tooling and die size should be selected against the manufacturer’s data for the conductor being terminated.
