About the T0051303199N Weller Tip Tinner, Lead Free
The T0051303199N tip tinner is Weller’s lead-free tip activator, a maintenance compound applied to a hot soldering tip to remove the oxide layer and re-tin the working face in a single operation. Soldering tips that have been run dry, left at temperature or used with lead-free alloys lose their wetting ability as the iron-plated face oxidises; working the hot tip into the activator restores wetting so the tip picks up and transfers solder correctly again, which in turn extends usable tip life. The formulation is lead-free and contains no halides and no rosin, so it does not leave a corrosive or conductive residue on the tip or the surrounding work. It is intended for use on hot tips only and is not a flux for the joint itself. This part is manufactured by Weller in Germany and is classified under HS code 3810.10.

Typical applications
Because the compound is lead-free and residue-free, it is used in electronics production and repair benches that have moved to lead-free process control, including rework of avionics and communications assemblies where residue cleanliness matters. Typical use is at shift start, after a long idle period, or whenever a tip stops wetting mid-job. Keeping tips activated in this way reduces consumption of replacement tips across a bench of soldering stations.
