Typical applications
Low single-digit ohm values are used for damping and limiting rather than for dividing: series gate resistors that slow a MOSFET edge, snubber legs across switching nodes, series damping on clock and supply feeds, and modest inrush limiting into small local capacitance. Because current, not voltage, is the limiting factor at 2.70 Ω, the 0.125 W rating of the 0805 case sets the working ceiling and should be checked against the actual peak current rather than the average. The ±1% tolerance is useful where the damping value was calculated rather than chosen by trial.
