Description
ERJP08F2700V Surface Mount Resistor 1206 Case 270Ω — BOLTON SKU 60788.
About the ERJP08F2700V Resistor, 1206 Case, 270 Ohm
Panasonic’s ERJ-P08 family are anti-surge thick film chip resistors built on a three-layer electrode structure with a metal-glaze thick film resistive element and a protective overcoat. The ERJP08F2700V surface mount resistor is the 270 Ω value in that family, held to ±1 % tolerance and rated at 0.66 W in the 1206 (3216 metric) case size. The anti-surge construction is the point of difference: compared with a standard thick film chip of the same footprint, the series is specified to withstand higher pulse and surge energy, and it is qualified to AEC-Q200. Terminations suit both reflow and flow (wave) soldering, so the part drops into an existing surface-mount process alongside conventional passives without a separate assembly step. At 270 Ω the part sits in the mid-range of the series, where surge-hardened resistors are most often specified for series and current-limiting duty.

Typical applications
A 270 Ω anti-surge chip is typically used for current limiting into gate drivers, optocoupler and LED strings, and for series positions on interface lines that see switching or inductive transients. The AEC-Q200 qualification and surge rating make it a common choice on power-supply input stages and on I/O that leaves the board, where an ordinary thick film chip of the same size would be the weak link. It is also used in snubber and bleed networks where the resistor must survive repeated energy pulses rather than continuous dissipation.
