About the 880810-1 Rubber Boot 2 Position Black
The 880810-1 connector rubber boot is an accessory for the TE Connectivity AMP Superseal 1.5 mm connector system, sized for the two-position housing. It is moulded in black elastomer and fits over the rear of the mated connector, covering the wire entry and the exposed length of conductor immediately behind the housing. Its function is protective rather than electrical: it keeps dirt, spray and abrasion off the cable exit and supports the wires where they leave the connector, which is where a harness is most likely to fatigue. The Superseal 1.5 system itself is a sealed wire-to-wire and wire-to-board range designed for harsh, wet installations, and the boot completes that protection at the cable side. Overall length is 20.5 mm with a body width of 12.5 mm, so it adds little to the installed envelope of an already compact connector.

Typical applications
Two-position Superseal 1.5 connectors are used for discrete sensors and small actuators, and this boot is fitted wherever such a connector sits in a wet, dusty or wash-down location — pressure and temperature senders, level and speed sensors, small solenoids and lamp feeds. It is also specified on plant and vehicle looms routed near moving parts, where the boot’s added support at the wire exit reduces flex fatigue at the crimp. Being a slip-on elastomer part, it can be retrofitted during maintenance without disturbing the terminated contacts.
