Description
RF Cable Assembly, RG58, 10 m, RP-SMA Male to RP-SMA Female — BOLTON SKU 53250.
About the RF Cable Assembly, RG58, 10 m, RP-SMA
This RF Cable Assembly RG58 10 m long is terminated with a reverse-polarity SMA (RP-SMA) male connector at one end and an RP-SMA female connector at the other. RG58 is the long-established flexible coaxial cable type with a 50 ohm nominal characteristic impedance, used for general-purpose RF interconnection at moderate power and frequency. RP-SMA reverses the gender of the centre contact relative to standard SMA while keeping the same threaded coupling shell, and is the interface commonly fitted to Wi-Fi, telemetry and other licence-exempt radio equipment and their antennas. A male-to-female pairing makes this assembly an extension lead: it inserts between an existing RP-SMA antenna and its radio to relocate the antenna up to 10 m from the equipment. As with any RG58 run, attenuation increases with frequency, so higher-frequency links over this length should be budgeted accordingly in the link plan.

Typical applications
Assemblies like this relocate antennas away from radios and modems — moving a telemetry or Wi-Fi antenna to a mast, window or vehicle exterior while the equipment stays racked or sheltered. They also serve bench and range testing where an antenna must be positioned away from the unit under test.
