Description
Press-Fit Drill Bushing with Head, 5 mm ID, 8 mm OD, 5.5 mm Long (96977A210) — BOLTON SKU 60019.
About the Press-Fit Drill Bushing with Head, 5 mm
Press-fit drill bushings are pressed permanently into a fixture-plate hole sized slightly smaller than the bushing body, so drill bits and other cutting tools are guided precisely while the plate itself is protected from wear. This headed metric bushing carries a 5 mm inside diameter in an 8 mm outside-diameter body, 5.5 mm long overall, catalogued under supplier reference 96977A210. The head forms a shoulder that seats against the fixture-plate face, locating the bushing at a fixed height and stopping it from migrating through the plate under repeated drilling thrust. McMaster-Carr lists its metric press-fit drill bushings as hardened, ground steel, so the 5 mm bore keeps its size and finish over many cycles instead of bell-mouthing as an unbushed plate hole would. With a 5.5 mm body length it is proportioned for relatively thin plates guiding mid-size 5 mm drills, and it is installed with a manual or hydraulic press into an interference-fit plate hole.
