Description

BPF.58.01 .8GHz Center Frequency Band Pass RF Filter (Radio Frequency) 70MHz Bandwidth 2.1 — BOLTON SKU 72351.

About the BPF.58.01 Band Pass RF Filter, Inline SMA

The Taoglas Airvu BPF.58.01 .8GHz Center Frequency Band Pass filter is an in-line 5.8 GHz band pass RF filter designed to screw directly between a UAV antenna and its radio port. Per the Taoglas specification, the passband spans 5480–5850 MHz with a stated pass band width of 70 MHz, insertion loss of 2.1 dB or less (0–70 °C), pass band ripple of 1.5 dB or less and return loss of 10 dB or more in a 50 ohm system, with maximum input power of 10 W. Stop-band attenuation is 17 dB or more at 5150–5340 MHz and 25 dB or more at 7500–7700 MHz. The ceramic filter element is housed in a brass body with black nickel plating, 35 mm long and 10 mm in diameter, weighing 8.865 g, with an RP-SMA(M) plug to RP-SMA(F) jack interface and a −40 °C to +85 °C operating range.

Typical applications

Taoglas developed this filter for UAV and drone radio installations: fitted at the antenna port of a 5.8 GHz video or telemetry link, it cuts out-of-band noise entering the receiver — protecting control range — and suppresses out-of-band emissions that can disturb GPS reception or 2.4 GHz control signals on the same airframe. It threads onto standard RP-SMA antenna connectors without tools beyond a torque wrench.
