Description
Soldersleeve, Heat-Shrinkable, 3.68 mm Shield Terminator, 24 AWG Ground Lead — BOLTON SKU 58816.
About the Soldersleeve, Heat-Shrinkable, 3.68 mm Shield
This is a heat-shrinkable solder sleeve shield terminator in the 3.68 mm size, supplied with a pre-installed 24 AWG ground lead. Solder sleeve shield terminators of this family combine a transparent, radiation cross-linked heat-shrinkable insulation sleeve with an integral solder preform and flux ring. When heated with a controlled hot-air tool, the sleeve shrinks onto the cable while the preform melts and solders the cable’s screen braid to the ground lead in one operation, producing an insulated, strain-relieved and environmentally protected shield-to-ground termination without crimping. The transparent sleeve allows visual inspection of the finished solder joint. The 3.68 mm figure in the designation is the size class of the device; confirm cable diameter range, lead length and any specification (e.g. commercial vs QPL grade) in your RFQ.

Typical applications
Shield terminators of this type ground the screens of shielded wires and multicore cables in aircraft, vehicle and equipment harnesses, typically picking the braid off to a common ground point near a connector backshell. The 24 AWG pre-installed lead suits light-gauge signal and data cable screens where a compact, sealed termination is required.
