About the SPUD-001T-P0.5 Crimp Socket, 22-26 AWG, Tin
JST supplies this contact as SPUD-001T-P0.5 for the PUD connector series. It is the socket, or female, half of the pairing, terminated by crimping rather than soldering, and accepts conductors from 26 AWG up to 22 AWG. The contact body is a copper alloy with tin plating over the mating and crimp areas. It is fitted into PUD series housings, which use a 2 mm pitch in a double-row arrangement and carry a positive locking device so that the mated pair is retained. The PUD series is designed to hold a stable electrical connection under vibration, pinching and dry-circuit conditions while keeping insertion force low. Crimp tooling and crimp height should be matched to the conductor actually used, since the 26 to 22 AWG range spans several wire sizes.
