Description
Tygon F-4040-A Tubing — BOLTON SKU 60888.
About the F-4040-A Tygon Flexible Tubing
Tygon F-4040-A is a special PVC formulation from Saint-Gobain developed for fuel and lubricant service. This item is supplied at 3.2 mm inside diameter and 6.4 mm outside diameter, giving a 1.6 mm wall, in a clear yellow colour and a 15 m length. The tint keeps flow visible while identifying the tube as a fuel-rated grade. The material resists the swelling and hardening that hydrocarbon fluids cause in ordinary PVC, which is the usual route to cracking and leakage at fittings. Working range is −37 °C to +74 °C, with a maximum working pressure of 3.4 bar and a minimum bend radius of 9.5 mm. Fluids routinely handled include petrol, kerosene, heating oils, cutting compounds and glycol-based coolants, and the wall construction also allows use in peristaltic pump heads.

Typical applications
Fuel-rated tubing at a 3.2 mm bore is used for small-engine fuel and vent lines, lubricant transfer, and instrument and test-rig plumbing where hydrocarbon compatibility is required. The 15 m length suits workshop stock for making up short runs. Its 9.5 mm bend radius allows tight routing around brackets and through bulkhead grommets without kinking the bore.
