About the S-MX4E-R-SDI4-ISR-UHD Makito X4 Encoder
The S-MX4E-R-SDI4-ISR-UHD video encoder is a Haivision Makito X4 Rugged SDI encoder appliance. It encodes to H.264/AVC and H.265/HEVC and can be operated either as a single channel taking 6G or 12G-SDI, or as four channels taking 3G, HD or SD-SDI, with support up to 4K UHD. The unit ingests and streams MISB-compliant KLV metadata and Cursor-on-Target data alongside the video, which is what makes it an ISR-class encoder rather than a broadcast contribution encoder: the metadata that geo-references each frame stays synchronised with the imagery through the encode and transport chain. Dual IP network interfaces are provided for redundancy and failover. The Rugged variant is qualified against DO-160, MIL-STD-810G and MIL-STD-1275E, and the product is DoDIN APL certified. The chassis is optimised for size, weight and power.

Typical applications
