About the DT04-3P-C015 DT Series Receptacle, 3-Way Connector
The DT04-3P-C015 DT Series connector is the three-position receptacle housing of the DT range, supplied in grey and designated for 16 AWG conductors. The DEUTSCH DT series is an environmentally sealed thermoplastic connector family used in vehicle, industrial and defence wiring harnesses. In DT numbering DT04 identifies the receptacle side and P identifies a housing that accepts pin contacts, making this the counterpart to the DT06-3S plug that carries sockets. The receptacle is the half more often fixed to equipment or mounted on a bracket, so it presents pins that stay in place while cable-side plugs are connected and disconnected during maintenance. As with every DT housing, a wedgelock is required and is pressed into the mating face after the pin contacts have been loaded, holding them aligned and providing secondary retention. Pin contacts and the three-way wedgelock are supplied separately from the housing.

Typical applications
Three-way receptacles are used at the equipment end of sensor and actuator circuits that need power, ground and a signal line, and on bulkheads where a harness passes into a sealed enclosure. Because the receptacle usually stays with the equipment, it is the half specified when a component must be replaceable without cutting into the loom. On vehicles and deployable systems this makes it the standard fitting on lamps, senders and small control units that are removed for service.
