About the DR-25-3/16-0-SP Thermofit DR-25 Tubing
DR-25-3/16-0-SP heat-shrink tubing belongs to the Raychem DR-25 range from TE Connectivity, made from a radiation-crosslinked elastomeric compound formulated for high-temperature fluid resistance and long-term heat ageing resistance. This variant is the 3/16 in (4.8 mm) supplied size with the -0 black colour code, and has a 2:1 shrink ratio. Unlike rigid polyolefin sleeving, the recovered wall stays flexible, which allows harnesses jacketed with it to be routed and handled without the sleeve splitting or stiffening the bundle. The published service temperature range is -75 °C to +150 °C for long-term exposure, and the material resists aviation and diesel fuels, hydraulic fluids and lubricating oils. It is abrasion resistant, which is why it is widely specified as a harness jacket in military ground vehicle applications. Material is supplied in 1.2 m cut lengths.

Typical applications
At 3/16 in the recovered sleeve suits jacketing small harness branches, individual heavy conductors and breakouts rather than main trunk bundles. The combination of flexibility, abrasion resistance and fuel and hydraulic fluid resistance is aimed at harnesses routed through engine bays, wheel arches and equipment compartments on ground vehicles and ground support equipment, where the loom is exposed to fluids, heat and rubbing contact. The wide low-temperature capability also suits cold-soak conditions.
