HellermannTyton 308-10600 Heat Shrinkable Tubing is part number 308-10600 in the manufacturer’s HIS-A series of adhesive-lined, medium-wall heat-shrink products, designated HIS-A-6/2. It has a 3:1 shrink ratio, recovering from a supplied inside diameter of 6 mm down to 2 mm, so a single size can seal over stepped profiles such as cable-to-connector transitions. The cross-linked polyolefin outer wall is lined with a hot-melt adhesive that flows during recovery to form a sealed, strain-relieved joint resistant to moisture ingress. The tubing is black, is rated by the manufacturer for operating temperatures from −55 °C to +125 °C, and is supplied on a 5 m reel in this pack format. Because the liner flows and cools into a semi-rigid sealant, the recovered sleeve also adds mechanical protection at the transition, and the reel format allows repeatable cut lengths in production harness work.

Typical applications
Adhesive-lined 3:1 tubing in this 6 mm size is used to seal and strain-relieve wire splices, breakouts and connector back-ends on small-gauge cabling in harness manufacture and repair. The moisture-blocking adhesive makes it suitable for junctions exposed to condensation, washdown or outdoor conditions where unlined thin-wall tubing would not provide an environmental seal.
