Weller T0051302699 is a flux-impregnated desoldering braid supplied on a 30 m roll in a 1.5 mm width. The braid is a fine copper weave that draws molten solder off a joint by capillary action when heated with a soldering iron tip; the impregnated flux keeps the surface wetted so that the transfer happens quickly and the underlying pad is left clean. Weller specifies good thermal transfer through the braid, which limits the dwell time needed on the joint and therefore the thermal load applied to the board and to the component. Typical use is clearing solder residues from tracks and pads and removing components from printed circuit boards during rework.
