About the RJFSFTP6A0250 Technical Component
The RJF SFTP 6A range is Amphenol Socapex’s high-reliability Ethernet cordset built for harsh-environment use. The cable is a 100 ohm round patch construction carrying four twisted pairs of 26 AWG tinned copper, built to the ISO/IEC 11801 Category 6/6A requirements. Each pair is individually foil-screened and the assembly is then double-shielded overall with an aluminium foil and tinned copper braid, which is what the SFTP designation denotes; this pairing of individual and overall screening is what allows Category 6A performance to be held in electrically noisy installations. The jacket is black polyurethane, UV-resistant and specified as halogen-free flame retardant, and the cable is reinforced with Kevlar strands so that tensile load is taken by the aramid rather than the conductors. Cordsets are terminated with RJ45 plugs and are supplied in defined lengths within the RJF SFTP 6A series.

Typical applications
Rugged shielded Ethernet cordsets are used for data links inside vehicles, shelters, deployable command posts and airborne or ground-based mission equipment, where standard commercial patch leads would not survive the mechanical and EMI environment.
