About the ADTS542F FL550 Pitot Static Tester, 2-Channel
The ADTS542F pitot static tester is Druck’s compact two-channel air data test set, designed for flightline work on the aircraft rather than bench use. It generates and controls pitot and static pressures using Druck TERPS trench-etched resonant pressure sensors together with proportional pressure control, and the resulting accuracy is specified as suitable for RVSM validation. The FL550 element of this package identifies the higher altitude option, covering altitudes to 55,000 ft with the standard airspeed range; the alternative FL280 build is limited to 28,000 ft. Operation is through the ADTSTOUCH hand terminal, a colour touch-screen controller linked to the set over Bluetooth, so the operator is not tethered to the unit. Readings can be scaled in feet or metres for altitude, knots, km/h or mph for airspeed, and ft/min, m/min or m/s for rate of climb. Typical applications
Two-channel air data test sets of this type are used for ramp and hangar testing of altimeters, airspeed indicators, air data computers and the associated pitot-static plumbing, including leak checks on the installed system. The 55,000 ft ceiling of the FL550 build covers business-jet and high-altitude transport envelopes as well as lower-flying types. Wireless operation from the hand terminal lets one technician run the test sequence from the cockpit while the set itself remains at the probe positions.
