About the STTC-137 Metcal Chisel Cartridge, 1.8mm
The STTC-137 soldering cartridge is a Metcal STTC 700 Series tip cartridge with a 30° chisel geometry measuring 1.8 mm across the face and 9.9 mm in reach. Metcal designates its cartridges by temperature series, and the 700 Series carries a nominal tip temperature of 775 °F (413 °C); Metcal describes the 700 Series as the recommended choice for the majority of applications. The cartridge combines heater, sensor and tip in a single replaceable unit and works with Metcal SmartHeat self-regulating technology, in which the heater alloy holds the tip at its rated temperature and adjusts delivered power during each joint rather than relying on an operator-set control or calibration. Published compatibility covers the MX-500, MX-5000 and MX-5200 systems and the MX-RM3E and MX-H1-AV handpieces. The cartridge may be used with both leaded and lead-free solder alloys.
