About the MX-5211 Metcal Solder Station, MX-PS5200 80W
The MX-5211 solder station is Metcal’s dual-port simultaneous soldering and rework system, built around the MX-PS5200 microprocessor-controlled power supply with an 80 W output and a 100–240 VAC input. Two handpieces connect at once and share the 80 W dynamically according to demand, so both ports remain usable rather than one sitting idle while the other works. As supplied the system comprises the MX-PS5200 power supply, two MX-H1-AV advanced handpieces, two MX-W1AV TipSaver workstands and an MX-CP1 cartridge removal pad. The power supply carries an LCD display with a digital readout and bar graph showing the status of the soldering operation as it happens, giving the operator direct feedback on how much power the joint is drawing. Metcal positions the MX series for lead-free work, high-mass components and multilayer boards, thermally sensitive assemblies, volume production soldering and touch-up.
