Description
Stannol Flux Pen 500-6B — BOLTON SKU 61563.
About the 500-6B Stannol Flux Pen for Soldering
The 500-6B flux pen dispenses Stannol liquid flux 500-6B, a rosin-based no-clean flux with a solids content of 6%. The formulation is halogen-free and is classified ROL0 under IPC/DIN J-STD-004B, the designation for a rosin-based flux with low activity and no halide content. Stannol states good wetting behaviour with both lead-free and tin-lead alloys, and the residue is tack-free once cooled. Because the residues are halide-free and retain a high surface insulation resistance, a subsequent cleaning operation can normally be omitted. The pen format holds 10 ml and uses a replaceable tip, which allows small, controlled quantities to be applied exactly where they are needed on a densely populated board rather than flooding an area. Brand: Stannol. Country of origin: Germany.

Typical applications
A pen applicator is the usual choice for SMD repair and PCB rework, where flux has to be placed on a single pad, a lifted lead or a fine-pitch row without contaminating adjacent components. The ROL0 classification and halide-free residue mean the board can generally be returned to service without an aqueous or solvent clean stage, which matters for assemblies that are difficult to dry. The 10 ml volume suits bench and field repair kits rather than production-line dispensing.
